Parade Date/ Time: October 11, 2008 at approximately 9:00 a.m.
Where: Prairie View A & M University, Prairie View, Texas
Start point: New Electrical Engineering Building
Staging area will OPEN at: EXACTLY 7:00 a.m. (New Electrical Engineering Building)
Staging area will CLOSE at: EXACTLY 8:45 a.m.
The parade duration is limited due to time constraints associated with the start of the football game. Your cooperation in arriving early is very important due to traffic delays due to other homecoming activities.
Length of parade route: Less than a mile ( end in front of the Memorial Student Center)
Parade participants are required to check-in with the staging director at the starting point for instruction, staging position and parade number. Your number must be displayed on your entry. Support vehicles not in the parade should proceed after participants drop-off directed by Department of Public Safety. All parade participants should proceed in a timely fashion in an effort to stay behind the preceding event. If you have a group of children that are participating, please keep them together at all times with continued supervision.
Cars and floats entries should have decorations consistent with the homecoming theme and the dignity associated with Prairie View A & M University. At minimum, we are requesting that all sides of your car or float be covered with decorations. There will be a designated area within the staging area for final preparation of your car or float. There will be no judging. Please do not stop to perform for the audience. Your performance should be continued throughout the parade.
